John Sheerin started in the microscope
business in 1973 with American Optical in St. Louis, MO. Promoted
to District Manager in Philadelphia in 1977 and spent two years
on the East Coast. He worked for Nikon as a clinical specialist
in Chicago for two years and then moved to Kansas City in 1979
to start his own business handling Nikon, Leitz and Wild Microscopes.
In 1981, Sheerin Scientific became a reality with 1 salesperson
and one person in the office. We have been located in KC, serving
the Midwest, since that time and we are now expanding our routine
coverage of Kansas, Nebraska, and Western Missouri to include
St. Louis, and the southern tip of Illinois.
John has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Central
Missouri State (’67) and we are starting our second Generation
with James Sheerin with us Since January 2004. Zeiss is our major
brand and we look forward to helping our new customers with their
microscope needs integrating their older systems with what is
new and matching their needs with their budget.
